HIP? - What's in a Pack

Home Use and Home Contents Forms

The current regulations authorise a number of sellers’ forms to be included in the pack.

Two of these are the Home Use and Home Contents Forms, the intention being to bring together in a consumer-friendly format property information about the contents of the home that would be requested as part of the conveyancing process in the current system.

This information could inform the buyer and reduce the possibility of delays later in the process.

Following consultation and early feedback in the area trials, it has become clear that the introduction of these forms as required documents could potentially create an added burden for industry, without adding significant benefits to the consumer.

It is therefore proposed that the forms remain optional documents in the Home Information Pack.
